How do I Post an Audition?
Posted by Matthew Friedman

The first thing to know is that you cannot post an audition unless you are logged in. This is for two main reasons:

  1. Security. Requiring a login is no bulletproof barrier, but every little bit helps in deterring yahoos.
  2. Audition ownership. Except for site administrators, you may only edit an audition you have posted. We can't have people editing one another's audition postings willy-nilly. You must be logged in under your username and password in order to edit (or delete) an audition you've posted.

Once you are logged in (create an account if you have not already by clicking the "Help" button on the Admission ticket and following the instructions), you may click "Post New Audition" wherever it appears on the site. You will see it on the front page and on the calendar page.

Simply click that "Post New Audition" link and follow the prompts. It's so easy, a caveman could do it!

Make sure you have all your facts straight before you post, however. If you linger too long on a page, you may get "timed out" from your session. So post your information, and if there are parts you are unsure of, just go back later and edit it to fill in the blanks or make corrections.

Goethe said, 'Talent is developed in privacy,' you know? And it's really true. There is a need for aloneness which I don't think most people realize for an actor. It's almost having certain kinds of secrets for yourself that you'll let the whole world in on only for a moment, when you're acting.
