The Foppish Dandies & Co., a not-for-profit theatre group in Norfolk, Virginia, will be auditioning for acting roles for its October 2008 production of The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari. This is a stage adaptation of the 1919 German Expressionist film, considered to be cinema's first true horror masterpiece.

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is the story of murder and intrigue set in a small German town of Holstenwall. Francis relates the story of traveling magician Dr Caligari and Cesare, a somnambulist. Their arrival in a town coincides with savage killings. The final revelation contains something which will leave an audience shattered.

The stage production will be a multi-sensory experience with environmental elements to drive the atmospheric storytelling. It will run on Fridays and Saturdays Oct 10 - Nov 1.

All actors must be able to move well.
