As George Washington sends depressing messages describing one military disaster after another, the businessmen, landowners and slave holders in Congress all stand in the way of the Declaration, and a single "nay" vote will forever end the question of independence. Large portions of spoken and sung dialogue are taken directly from the letters and memoirs of the actual participants. Actors should prepare: Be prepared to sing a selection not more than 2 minutes long that will show your range and musical ability. An accompanist will be provided. Also be prepared to perform a dance step taught to you at auditions. Wear appropriate shoes. Rehearsal times/dates: TBD Performance dates: July 18 - August 10, 2008 Friday and Saturday @ 8:00 pm; Sundays @ 3:00 p.m. Possibility of additional Thursday night shows. |
